IPRS Aeromed are delighted to announce that we have been successful in achieving CQC accreditation, as we strive to widen the services that we can deliver within the clinical assistance sector.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department of Health and Social Care.  It was established in 2009 to regulate and inspect health and social care services in England.  Its role is to ensure that hospitals, care homes, dental, general practices and other care services in England provide safe, effective and high-quality care and to encourage them to improve.  It performs this role through the checks carried out during the initial registration process, spot inspections and monitoring of a range of data sources.

The five main questions that the CQC ask of any service, private or NHS are:

  • Is it safe?
  • Is it effective?
  • Is it caring?
  • Is it responsive to people’s needs?
  • Is it well led?

Dr Vanessa Machin, IPRS Aeromed’s Medical Director said: “We believed that as a clinical company, we could answer yes to all these questions, so we volunteered to be considered for registration even though we didn’t fit any of their ‘pigeon holes’ and we were delighted when we heard that we had achieved registration for all our regulated activities.

“Shane Joyce, our Clinical Operations Manager and I are particularly pleased to become the Joint Registered CQC Managers and we feel that we can now move forward with pride in knowing that we are endorsed by the CQC.”

Vanessa added, “it is important that the business recognises the importance of being proactive when it comes to gaining the appropriate accreditations to enable us to be visible at the forefront of high-quality clinical care.”

Martyn Jackson, CEO of the IPRS Group was delighted with the news, saying: “This is a fantastic development for the IPRS Aeromed team as they continue to respond to the needs of their existing and future clients.  We see CQC accreditation as an important milestone in our development.

We are a clinical company and it is important that we make sure all our businesses are at the vanguard of their sectors and embrace appropriate regulation and accreditation, so that we are in a position to service our clients better as we grow and develop.”
